I bought some cheap watercolour paints for the kids .. but couldn’t resist playing with them myself!

I just had to do another one … loving the Pitt Pen and the watercolour pencils!!

I’ve been thinking about drawing my own little babushka doll and when I (finally) got some Pitt Pens I was ready. Of course I loved drawing the little face .. but it was so much fun playing with the watercolour pencils.

I’m still obsessed with drawing eyes … even though I took a drawing class and I know that my proportions aren’t correct … I feel that it’s okay … these are my girls and they’re a bit quirky!!

I found The Sketchbook Challenge the other day and when I started thinking about the theme Opposites I thought of the ladies that I’ve been drawing lately and how the two halves of the face could be opposites.

This lady came to me the other night .. I think she is quite lovely.

This lady looks like Dolly Parton to me … not sure if it’s the lips or the eyes … maybe it’s the combination …

I realised last night that I’m already halfway through my moleskine journal … I love to draw and I’m getting excited about starting a Portraiture Drawing Class with Chris Dewar next week.

I sat down again last night and did some drawing … this lady looks a little different from all the others … and notice she has ears …

My daughter Annalise (11) was just looking through my journal and noticed that my drawings had similarities … big eyes, small lips and long necks … and yes, they all have noses … but to me they all have different personalities …

The other day I found an image in a magazine of a fashion icon and really wanted to draw it … I wonder if you can guess who it is??
