grace turns 10 …

My daughter Grace turned 10 last week … and I still can’t believe how quickly a decade can pass by!

It was a very exciting birthday because there are certain privileges that a 10 year girl in our family can now enjoy.

Privilege # 1 – getting ears pierced – check!
Privilege # 2 – having a mobile phone – check!
Privilege # 3 – drinking a cup of tea – check!
Privilege # 4 – slumber party – check!

Here she is talking to my Mum on her new iPhone … one very happy girl!

And a birthday wouldn’t be complete without some artwork from Mum … I came up with 10 words that are encouraging and inspiring … each one also has it’s dictionary definition in the petal.

gift giving …

Lately there has been a lot of gift giving … which means I’ve been busy in the studio …

I love giving handmade gifts … I’ve been doing it a very long time!

This fabric notebook was for my Aunt who recently celebrated her 60th birthday!

And a lovely card to go with it!

And this little canvas was for a 6 year old princess who had a wonderful disco party.

thank you …

A very big thank you to the lovely ladies who came along to my very first studio workshop. We had so much fun and it is such a good feeling to watch the creativity of others as they explore new mediums and products.

angel …

Meet angel … She started out in my sketchbook and looked a lot like an old friend of mine … so I decided to transfer her onto a 9″ x 12″ canvas.
