thank you …

A very big thank you to the lovely ladies who came along to my very first studio workshop. We had so much fun and it is such a good feeling to watch the creativity of others as they explore new mediums and products.

wall display …

I have put all my ladies together on the wall … I’m still trying to decide if I like them … but I do know that I’ve enjoyed the process. I have another in the works too … perhaps she’ll turn out a bit better!

angel …

Meet angel … She started out in my sketchbook and looked a lot like an old friend of mine … so I decided to transfer her onto a 9″ x 12″ canvas.

dream girl …

I’ve been working on another canvas … and decided this time to start with the dictionary collage face … I’ve added texture paste to her hair, the yellow polka dot dress with some Tim Holtz trim and of course a princess needs some pearls … the crown is clipart printed onto patterned paper … spritzed with some Glimmer Mist.

the future …

belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams …

I really love this quote from Eleanor Roosevelt.

I started this canvas in September of 2009.

And although I said that I liked it … I didn’t have it hanging up anywhere.

I recently bought a new number for my letterbox … and the old one was sitting on my studio desk … and I decided to give it a new home.

The little rock was found at Avoca Beach recently …

still drawing …

I can’t stop drawing … and playing with different watercolour pencils .. I found some Derwent watercolours (but only a tin of 12 so the colours are limited) .. but my favourite so far is the Faber-Castell .. that I’ve borrowed from my daughter.

I even had a canvas with a background already painted (because i love backgrounds) so I thought I would give painting a try .. it’s a good starting point and I’m happy with the outcome.

My mum came over yesterday and suggested a place to put her on the wall .. which I did today.
