‘H’ is for happiness …

It was my mum’s birthday recently and because her nickname is ‘H’ I made her this canvas, with lots of words that start with ‘h’.

Stampin’ Up! workshop …

I had a fabulous workshop yesterday … I was calm and confident … and I just love it when the guests love the cards they make!!

My hostess, Helen, wanted to make a Christmas card and a kids birthday card …

For this card I’ve used the Season of Joy stamp set, the sentiment from the Hostess stamp set Best Yet, and two InColors, Kiwi Kiss and Riding Hood Red, and I LOVE the 1 1/4″ Striped Grosgrain Ribbon from the Spring Mini catalogue.

And I couldn’t decide if we should do a card for boys or girls, so I made both and the guests could choose.

This is the cutest little elephant from the Wild About You stamp set and the sentiment comes from Flight of the Butterfly.

happy birthday to you!

I’m so excited that you can now buy a single stamp from Stampin’ Up!. The new Spring Mini Catalogue has four single stamps to choose from .. my favourite is Birthday Wish – and for only $13.95 it’s a real bargain, that I’m sure I’ll use again and again. Here are my first two creations …

I’ve also used the cute little owl here from Forest Friends … I think they work well together!

And here I’ve added a butterfly from Flight of the Butterfly … loving the butterflies!

3 x 3 card holder ….

At the Stampin’ Up! convention this year I saw this fabulous project … (but I’m not sure who made it) …
stampinup_card_holder

and I really wanted to have a go myself. At a craft fair recently I bought a Judikins 3×3 envelope template, and I decided to make a mini version, that can be made with some A4 cardstock. About a month ago, (I can’t believe how quickly July disappeared) my Mum’s good friend, Lyn, had a workshop and we all made one. Thanks Lyn! I think they’re rather cute! Inside we have 3 cards, and three gorgeous little envelopes.

Spring Mini Catalogue Launch Night

The Stampin’ Up! spring mini catalogue is currently available in Australia and NZ from 1 August – 30 November 2009.stampinup_spring_mini_catalogue

Last night my Stampin’ Up! team had our Spring Mini Catalogue Launch Night. It was heaps of fun. I had 9 fabulous ladies at my table and we made these three projects …

This card uses the Oval All set, and the Scallop Oval punch from the new spring mini – and I have to say I love them both (and so did most of my customers!). I’ve also used some pink passion and baja breeze, and to the horror of some of my guests we used some pages from an old Trixie Belden book. I was a big fan of Trixie as a young girl, and my friend Jane, also a lover of Trixie gave me some of her spare copies … I’m sure I was supposed to read them … but I couldn’t resist using them for art! (thanks Jane and sorry). But on the upside, Jane is now able to make a scrapbook page about her love of the Trixie Belden books!

Our second project was this wallet notebook, which uses the Parisian Breeze Specialty Designer Series Paper, (textured cover-weight card stock) and it has gorgeous patterns and is a pleasure to work with.

A very handy gift idea, and very simple.

Our third project uses the new Sense of Time stamp set, one of my favourites!! We made a masculine card, using vellum and sponging a mask behind the vellum to highlight the clock face.

It was a fabulous night full of fun and prizes – our table turned out to be quite lucky!!

Thanks ladies, looking forward to next crafting night!
